  • Shut down at least once per week
    • Solves most problems, and improves performance
  • Handle with care
    • Never place stickers on the laptop. If you would like to get a case and put stickers on that, you may do so. Students who place stickers on the laptop will be required to remove the stickers before returning the laptop when they graduate or withdraw from the district.
    • To carry:
      • Close the lid
      • Hold securely, with multiple contact points
    • Never drop the computer, even when contained
    • Don’t let anything press on the back of the screen
      • This can damage the screen
  • Keep in a safe place
    • Keep away from liquids, floor, pets, etc.
    • Transport in something padded
    • Allow room for vents (particularly when on cushions)
      • It can overheat, otherwise
  • Cleaning
    • Never spray the computer
      • This can short it out
    • Use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth
  • Battery
    • Poor battery care can shorten the charge it holds
    • Avoid low charge (<10%) and constant charging
