ACM Computer Curricula Recommendations
IEEE Educational Activities Board
- The ACM and IEEE together have created the computer curricula recommendations intended to be used for all computer education – from K-12 through Associate degree and further university education. Essentially the same information is found at both of these websites.
- There is an overview report, a report for each of the five computer disciplines (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering)
- The IEEE Educational Activities Board develops, implements and evaluates all educational activities in the computer fields at all levels
- From IEEE: trycomputing.org – site will launch in 2012 with information about computer careers

- Solid and broad academic education
- Varied subjects
- Good grades
- Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, physics, chemistry
- Basic computing literacy – AP if possible
- English, social studies, foreign language, the arts
- Solid English and communications skills
